Tinnitus

Tinnitus is the perception of sound (whistling, buzzing, crackling, clicking, etc.) when there is no external source of sound. It can be temporary, for example after exposure to noise, or chronic, when it persists over time.

Degrees of hearing loss

The degrees of hearing loss describe the severity of hearing impairment, ranging from mild to profound, depending on how difficult it is for a person to hear sounds and understand speech.

Hearing loss

Hearing loss is a partial or total reduction in the ability to hear sounds. It can affect one or both ears and manifest itself in difficulties understanding conversations, hearing the television, music, or surrounding noises. It can be profound, moderate, or mild, and have several causes, such as aging, prolonged exposure to loud noises, infections, diseases, or genetic disorders.
